Volles Haus, tolle Menschen mit viel Interesse, eine super Location mit einem ur-netten und engagierten Team und vor allem mit Journalistin und Roma-Akivistin Gilda Horvath (Deutsche Welle) ein Gast mit auf der Bühne, die weder mit klaren Ansagen noch mit ihrem fundierten Wissen geizte und so meinen Lesestellen aus "NAKED IDENTITY - WER IST AYA K?" einen topaktuellen und spannenden Rahmen gab. Naked Identity Wer ist Aya K? Kiew : ein Videoclip trendet im Netz. Eine Handykamera hat den Sturz von einem Hochausdach gefilmt – in der Hand eines Videobloggers, der für seine rechtslastigen Triaden berüchtigt war. Schnell identifiziert die Öffentlichkeit auf den Aufnahmen die nicht weniger bekannte Aktivistin Aya Kowalenka alias „The Naked Gypsy“ als Täterin. Die streitbare Romni, im bürgerlichen Leben Wirtschaftsprofessorin, provoziert seit Jahren in der Tradition der Femen für die Rechte von Minderheiten und Frauen. Ist sie diesmal einen Schritt zu weit gegangen oder war es Notwehr? Während rechte Bürgerwehren demonstrieren, küren Gruppen aus ihrer eigenen Community sie zur Ikone eines Widerstandskampfes. Doch dann geht eine ehrgeizige Boulevardjournalistin mit einer Enthüllung auf Sendung, die alles wieder auf den Kopf stellt.  Kann ausgerechnet Bandmanager und Gelegenheits-informant Adam Wischnewski mit seiner Wiener Truppe die Verfolgte aus dem kochenden Hexenkessel her...

Was für ein inspirierender Abend! Der hochkarätig besetzte Talk „ Rom:nja Artists in Media and on Stage “ zum Abschluss des Festival E Bistarde , wunderbar ruhig, einfühlsam und souverän moderiert von der Festivalgründern Simonida Selimovic . Viele Aspekte, viele Sichtweisen, viel zum Nachdenken, ein sehr großer Bogen und das in wunderbar respektvoller Weise. Wo gibt es das schon noch, dass auf einem Panel alle Teilnehmenden einander die Zeit geben, Gedanken zu entwickeln, einander zuhören und tatsächlich interagieren, statt nur „Standpunkte“ rauszuhauen.

Zugegeben, bezüglich der bildgenerierenden Künstlichen Intelligenz (K.I.) schlagen zwei Herzen in meiner Brust. Das kreative ist begeistert, denn mit den Wort-Bild-Modellen wie Midjourney & Co bin ich als sehr visuell denkender Mensch plötzlich in der Lage, Dinge zu realisieren, die mir mangels zeichnerischen Talents oder photographischer Möglichkeiten bislang verschlossen blieben. So kann ich jetzt zum Beispiel meine Romane selbstständig illustrieren oder sogar als Comic realisieren und so ein ganz neues Genre erschließen.

  Wir führen einen Kampf. Schon wieder. Oder immer noch? Es sind die letzten Scharmützel noch nicht recht vorbei, jene um Raubkopien, Urheberrecht und faire Entlohnung der Kreativen bei elektronischer Verleihe et cetera pp. Wir sind noch müde, geschunden. Und doch müssen wir uns aufs Neue formieren. Es ist wie in Mittelerde. Der Rauch über Helms Klamm ist noch nicht verzogen, da schickt uns Mordor noch größere Heerscharen an Orks, Uruk-hais und Nazgûls.

Yesterday, January 20, 2021 at 12:30 pm Eastern Time the 21st century began. It began in Washington DC and it began with poet Amanda Gorman and her poem "The Hill We Climb".

A couple of days ago, singer Adele experienced kind of a mini-shit storm when she posted a picture of herself on Instagram at the Notting Hill Carnival in London. On it, the British singer wears a bikini top printed with a Jamaican flag, among other things. She has knotted her hair into Bantu Knots, a hairstyle that has its origins in the Black community. The accusation to which she then found herself exposed: cultural appropriation. As a white British woman, it was not her place to braid her hair into Bantu Knots, since she was not Black and this type of hairstyle was part of the culture of the Black community. And as a carnival gag this was even worse, period.

Do you remember? 2008? The incantations? "Never again," they said, over and over. "Never again shall and never again will losses be socialized and profits privatized." That should have been the great lesson learned from the financial crisis. The grand promise....

Race riots, the USA at the top of the Corona victim lists, military operations against its own civilian population and with every mad tweet we stare at Donald Trump again and again. But do we actually have our eyes on the right person? Sure, the president has the responsibility. But is he really responsible when the USA staggers into chaos and towards autocracy? Some pressing questions... I had barely turned 18 and only recently got my driving license when I was on my way to a concert with my first car and two friends on board. The father of the two was also with us, as they were not yet of legal age. But of course, I was driving - proudly. Eventually we got endlessly stuck on a country road behind a tractor. Constantly cars were coming towards us and if not, the road would make a bend. As a beginner I stayed well-behaved behind the chugging vehicle. But finally, the father of my friends, looking back at the queue that had formed behind us, said to me: "You're holding up...

When I was watching the final part of 'Hunger Games' a couple of years ago, I was thinking by myself, well, it will  be just like that one day. Just that we - the White, the European, the self-acclaimed 'first world' - are not Katniss. We're not District 12. We are all President Snow. We are all the Capitol. And we will lose everything. And when we lose, we lose rightfully. Sadly it seems that I was right.

When the Corona crisis is over, everyone will come back out of their holes. Concerned citizens, those in government and even those not in government shake their heads and agree on one thing: "It was very bad that during the crisis we were so dependent on foreign countries for systemically important goods such as protective masks and respirators. This must not happen again, we must become self-sufficient."

We are quite proud! Although we had to cancel the annual CRIMINALE - the biggest German-language crime festival - and the big GLAUSER-AWARD gala due to the Corona crisis, my colleagues of the SYNDIKAT and I managed to produce a 90-minute show in just two weeks and in a decentralized way that is really woth seeing.

Like almost all live events around the globe, unfortunately all my current readings had to be cancelled too. Of course, it is particularly unfortunate that we lost SYNDIKAT's   CRIMINALE 2020 in Hannover, which again would have been a great experience with over 250 participating authors. Stay tuned! OSCAR night, a mega show as always. But did you know that the most diverse award category is "Make-up & Hair"? 7 of the 11 nominees are not white men. But besides that they are. And quite old they are the nominees.

Phase 3 is completed. Exciting to see it come true. Ready for Phase 4.
